About the Maltz Museum

Heritage and history merge in Greater Cleveland’s newest museum, the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, dedicated to diversity and tolerance. Since its opening in 2005, the facility has welcomed more than 100,000 visitors from around the world.

The Maltz Museum chronicles and celebrates the courage and achievements of the Cleveland Jewish community and its members. Their stories—past and present—come to life through state-of-the-art technology, films, computer interactives, unique artifacts, compelling oral histories, art, and images.

Its permanent galleries and special exhibits include: An American Story, our permanent collection which recounts the Jewish immigration to America, as well as its values and contributions; The Temple-Tifereth Israel Gallery, presenting an internationally-recognized collection of Judaica; and regularly scheduled special exhibitions of national and international acclaim.

• Museum Lobby - This stunning space accommodates up to 225 cocktail party guests or 100 guests for sit down dinners. These open and elegant accommodations are particularly well-suited for social events, corporate receptions and meetings.
• The Chelm Family Theatre - With comfortable seating for 60, a sleek stage and state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities, the Chelm Family Theatre is an ideal space for a wide range of presentations, meetings, lectures and performances.
• The Special Exhibition Gallery - An open and spacious room of 3,800 square feet can accommodate a sit-down dinner for 220 or a cocktail reception for 325.
